General Information

Duty of Privacy::

We will treat all of your personal information as private and confidential (even when you are no longer a customer). Nothing about your accounts, nor your name and address, will be disclosed to anyone, including other companies within our group, other than in the exceptions set out below :

- Where we are legally compelled to do so.

- Where there is a duty to the public to disclose

- Where it is necessary to protect our interest.


These will not be used as reasons for disclosing information about you or your accounts to anyone else, including other companies within our group, for marketing purposes.

Disclosure will only be made at your request or with your consent, or otherwise where permitted by law.


Data Protection::

You have ‘a right to access’ under the Data Protection Act 1984 to your personal records held on computer files.

Copies of your application and related documents will be held by Eastbourne Financial Services Ltd as part of its records and may be passed to any of its associated companies where required to do so for regulatory purposes.


Credit References::

When we seek a ‘Decision in Principle’ prior to submitting your application, or when a lender receives your application, the lender/mortgage packager will undertake a full credit search and your details may be passed to a credit reference agency.


Who Regulates Us::

Eastbourne Financial Services Ltd, Highlight House, St. Leonards Road, Eastbourne, East Sussex, BN21 3UH is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Our FSA registration number is 310694.

Our permitted business is advising on and arranging mortgages and non-investment insurance business. You can check this on the FSA's Register by visiting the FSA's website at www.fsa.gov.uk/register/ or by contacting the FSA on 0845 606 1234.


Are we covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)?

We are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim.

Insurance - Insurance advising and arranging is covered for 100% of the first £2,000 and 90% of the remainder of the claim, without an upper limit.

Mortgages - Mortgage advising and arranging is covered for 100% of the first £30,000 and 90% of the next £20,000 so the maximum compensation would be £48,000.

Complaints::

At Eastbourne Financial Services we take complaints very seriously, and your satisfaction is paramount to our company’s philosophy. However, should your feel that your complaint has not been satisfactorily resolved, the following information may assist you further.


Complaints about the Lender : In the first instance all complaints should be directed to the Chief Executive of the Lender at their registered offices, details of which will be found in their terms and conditions. They will advise you of the correct procedure to follow.


Complaints about the Adviser : In the first instance you should write to The Compliance Office, Eastbourne Financial Services Ltd, Highlight House, St. Leonards Road, Eastbourne, East Sussex, BN21 3UH or telephone 01323 439300. We guarantee that your complaint will be acknowledged within five working days, and investigated. Our aim is to resolve your complaint as speedily as possible. If you remain dissatisfied, you may be entitled to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
